Aztec Cows… or if you please… A-MAZE-ing Cows

These are the cows patterned after the Aztec bookmark, but it looks more like a maze to me.  I haven’t tried to follow the path, so I don’t really know if you can get from point A to point B.

These are the same cows I painted in this post.  Happily, it sold as soon as it hit the internet.

Lost is the word for Illustration Friday this week.  Can you see the cat and the bearded dragon that are lost in this forest?  I painted this from two different photos by Mginsberg at WetCanvas.
There’s a very good chance that you’ll see this one again…. in vivid color.

I loved this reference by JustJean at WetCanvas.  I painted it on masa that had a thin coat of  Mod Podge on the surface.  The paintings I posted last week didn’t have any medium on the surface and this was much easier.  The paper is less fragile and you can blot off color, where the uncoated masa is too fragile and the paint is permanent once it hits the paper. I would have used acrylic matte medium, but I didn’t have any.   For some reason, I seem to have plenty of Mod Podge.  

This was pure pleasure to paint.  I especially love how the fence looks.  Check out Leslie White’s fence here.  Leslie’s painting  is what inspired me.

I’m going to have to give that one some thought.

Okay, I really didn’t make the eyes weirder than the photo.  This Lemur really did have these eyes.  They are a little unsettling, but it was fun to paint him.
