It’s love!  Of course, he looks like he’d much rather keep the chocolate.  I love you… I love chocolate… I love you… I love chocolate.  Of course, we know chocolate is bad for dogs.  :)

A Vintage Truck Sketch – 5″ x 7″ Work in Progress

I do some art nearly every morning before I get ready for work.  It’s like I need to do art and it always makes my day better when I start it this way.  Yesterday morning I drew this truck.  This morning, I inked it and started painting it.  Tomorrow, I’ll paint the truck and maybe the background.  It’s red in the photo I drew it from, but I’m thinking it may be a little fancier.  We’ll see.  :D

Yupo Pasture

Yupo Pasture
10″ x 8″ Watercolor on Yupo

Those two acrylic paintings took so long to do that I am going to post an old painting today.  I usually manage 5 paintings a week, but not this week.  :)

I like the peacefulness of this scene.  In total contrast, I am literally ga ga!! I have been commissioned to do a 2′ x 4′ version of my Little Pink House painting!  I am so thrilled!  It’s going to Florida and I am “butt wiggling” happy!  (I finally shot a price to her and she was very happy with it, so now it is real.)

Ladybug

“It is well for the heart to be naive and the mind not to be.”

Ladybug
3″ x 5″ Acrylic on Paper Mache Box Lid

My niece, Chelsi, took the most amazing lady bug photos.  She was generous enough to share them with me.  They are in the WetCanvas reference image library, if you ever need a ladybug reference.

I sent Ryan (Asmalltowndad) one of Chelsi’s photos, because he does hands so beautifully.  He did it in watercolor and I think it turned out great!!    I love it!

The neat thing about this painting is that I can look at my niece’s hand (shown here holding her niece’s hand) and I can see my sister’s hand (her mom).  Thanks, Ryan!
