Hong Kong Shoreline – 4″ x 6″ Watercolor and Sharpie

The photo reference was from Joel at WetCanvas.  This little painting is going to be on it’s way to Joel in the Philippines later today.    It’s really fun when we make online art friendships.  I have several paintings in my house and office  from other countries, thanks to my friends at WetCanvas.  Quite often, we just do a trade.

Plaid and Polka Dots – 4″ x 4″ Watercolor

I hosted the WDE over the weekend at WetCanvas.  I used photos from the Reference Image Library that started with P.  We had a lot of fun and I did eight paintings.  I threw studying and honey-dos to the wind and just played in my studio.  This photo was titled “Pretty Girl” (by me) and was contributed to the RIL by pencilnpen.  Of course, following the P theme, I added the Plaid and Polka dots.  If I had been thinking ahead, I’d have given her Pigtails. 

I think this is the first child I have painted that didn’t look like a 40 year old hooker.  ha ha ha

Sorry, but after I painted this critter, all I could see is a football with a face.     Ryan (asmalltowndad) will be suggesting the straight-jacket again when he sees this baby.  he he

It is so hot in Oklahoma right now that perhaps my brain cells are getting a little toasty around the edges.  We’ve had a long streak of heat indexes around 108F.   I have a flying lesson tonight and when it’s this hot, there are thermals coming up from the ground that bounce the plane all over the place.  When I’m coming in for a landing and all of the sudden the plane pops 100 ft in to the air, it’s a little startling!  (sometimes a woohoo escapes my lips)  Oh, and I might mention that there is no air conditioning in my little trainer either.   The fun just never ends! 

I’m gonna close my eyes for a moment and pretend I’m in Idaho.
